Pairing In-Period Block Time

The in-period block time of a pairing is defined as the block time (i.e. non-deadhead flight time) contained within the pairing, which falls within the current period.

When a pairing carries into, or out of, the period, then:

  • all the leg start/end times are converted back into the time zone of the pairing start location (i.e. the person's base)

  • legs which are fully inside the period have all of the flying time counted

  • legs which are fully outside the period have none of the flying time counted

  • legs which cross the period boundary have the flight time split at midnight, and only the in-period portion of the flight time is counted.

Bid for or avoid pairings with a pairing in-period block time equal to, greater than, or less than a specific amount, or within or outside a range.

Avoid Pairings bid example

  • It filters out pairings with an in-period block time greater than 11:00.

Example

Award Pairings If Pairing In-Period Block Time > 22:00
