In this topic we will review the process of scheduling a category award run. 

We estimate that this will take 8 minutes to complete.

Detailed Explanation 

We begin on the Run Manager tab and will use an existing template to launch a schedule award for Las Vegas captains. 

Interaction 1 Click the Launch Run button.

HINT 

We will review where you can save a template later in this topic. 

The Run Type can be either Concurrent, Consecutive or Training depending on your configuration.

Concurrent and Consecutive - pairings/reserve awards

Training - awards training events

Interaction 1 Click the Run Type dropdown button.

Interaction 2 Click the Concurrent list item.

Interaction 1 Click the Template dropdown button.

HINT 

If you have multiple templates, you can select the template you want from this dropdown. 

Interaction 1 Click the Test_Template list item.

Next, select the category that we want to award. 

Interaction 1 Click the Group dropdown button.

Interaction 2 Click the LAS-319-CA list item.

Interaction 1 Click the Run Name input field.

The Run Name can be anything you want and displays only to Administrators. 

Interaction 1 Enter LAS Awards into the Run Name field.

Let's create a normal window of 75 to 90 credit hours with a threshold of 80. 

Interaction 2 Click the Normal | Low input field.

Interaction 1 Press the Delete  KeySymbol:46 key.

Interaction 2 Enter 5 into the Normal | Low field.

Interaction 1 Click the Normal | High input field.

Interaction 2 Press the Backspace  KeySymbol:8 key.

Interaction 3 Press the Delete  KeySymbol:46 key.

Interaction 1 Enter 90 into the Normal | High field.

You can also use spin buttons to change the values. For this example, we'll assume it's pressed enough times to reach the desired value.

Let's limit the number of crew members permitted into the min credit window to 5.

We will use the primary stack date (PSD) to prioritize unstacking for a holiday. In this example, Feb 14th, Valentine's Day, to ensure sufficient coverage. 

Interaction 1 Click the Use Primary PSD check box.

Interaction 2 Click the Date | Month dropdown button.

We are going to limit the amount of open pairings per day using Max Stack Height. In this example we want no more than 10 on the weekdays and no more than 8 on the weekends. In addition we want to limit Feb 14th to no more than 5 open pairings for the holiday.

Interaction 1 Enter 10 into the Weekday field.

We can now define the number of reserves we require for each day. 

Interaction 1 Click the Weekday input field.

Interaction 1 Click the Apply RES Defaults button.

This will apply the default RES values to the fields below.

In addition to applying the RES default you can also edit any specific date(s) to the numbers you require. In this example, let's increase our reserve number to 9 on February 14th.

The next items we'll work with are farther down the screen, so we need to scroll down.

In this section we check the reserve short call types that we plan on using for this category. In this example, we will be using RSA and RSB and set the target reserve numbers we would like for the call type.  

Interaction 1 Click the RSA | Use check box.

Interaction 1 Press the Backspace  KeySymbol:8 key.

Interaction 1 Enter 3 into the RSA | Weekend field.

Interaction 1 Click the Apply Defaults button.

Interaction 1 Press the Backspace  KeySymbol:8 key.

Interaction 1 Enter 2 into the RSB | Weekday field.

Interaction 1 Click the Apply Defaults button.

As before, we need to scroll down to access the next interactions.

For this example let's award Long Call Reserve to two crew members at most. 

Interaction 1 Click the RSL | Use check box.

Interaction 2 Click the RSL | Max Bidders input field.

Interaction 1 Press the Backspace  KeySymbol:8 key.

Interaction 1 Enter 2 into the RSL | Max Bidders field.

Interaction 1 Click the Save button.

HINT 

Save launches the award process.
Save as Template allows you to save the parameters as a template if you wish.

You can see that the run has been sent to the server for processing.
