Analyzing bid groups

Introduction

Analyzing bid groups

In this topic we show you how to analyze both entire bid groups and also individual bid preferences to determine the restrictiveness of your bid preferences.

We estimate that this will take 2 minutes to complete.

Detailed Explanation

Start by highlighting the bid group that you want to analyze by clicking the first bid line item. This is a system-designated line item that represents the start of a bid group.

Interaction 1 Click the Line 1 row.

Interaction 2 Click the Search button.

The analyzer opens to display the results of the search, showing you information related to your selected bid group. The search results show how many pairings match the bid preference and how many of these pairings are being removed from and added to your bid pool (depending on the tab selected). The Matching Bid Line tab shows the pairings that match the bid preference.

Let's analyze a specific bid preference.

Interaction 1 Click the Line 2 row.

The search for Preference 2 (highlighted in the list) shows 250 pairings that operate on weekends, 357 pairing on dates, and 357 pairing instances.

All of these have been removed from the preferred pairing pool.

The Filtered Pool tab shows that there are 267 pairings, 445 pairing on dates, and 445 pairing instances remaining.

Since this is a negative bid, there are no pairings added to the final pool of potential awards.

Interaction 1 Click the Line 3 row.

If you click through the list of the different pairing bid preferences, you can review the results of what we are doing show in the analyzer.

Of the matching pairings, the Removed From Pool tab shows how many are removed. This figure may not match what is shown on the first tab because pairings may have been removed with prior bid preferences.

In this example, the analyzer displays 15:45:45, the results of line 3.
