Bid for or avoid positions on the aircraft. You can change the order of the positions that you want to add to the Position bid preference using the Up and Down buttons.
Avoid Pairings bid example
Avoid Pairings If Position XX
XX being an available position
It filters out pairings where the only available position is XX.
With an Award Pairings bid preference, the N-PBS Scheduler checks each potential pairings that could be awarded by the bid preference to make sure that the position you are awarded matches your position option. No other Award Pairings bid preferences are affected.
With an Avoid Pairings bid preference, the N-PBS Scheduler checks any potential pairings that could be awarded by any Award Pairings bid preference that follows the Avoid Pairings bid preference to make sure that the position you are awarded matches your position option.
Position Example
Pairing D4013 has a P1, P2, and P3 position, and requires 1 a language position (if applicable).
The first FA assigned is P1.
The second FA assigned is P2.
The third FA assigned is P3 and language position.
In this situation, the third P3 assigned would have to have the language, and the N-PBS Scheduler would not assign an FA to this pairing who did not have the language qualifications. If not enough bidders wanted this pairing and the language stack was too high during this period, the N-PBS Scheduler would force the pairing on the most qualified junior bidder.
