Manage Run Templates

Most administrators spend most of their time in the N-PBS Scheduler working with templates and runs. You can set up multiple templates that let you quickly launch runs using standard parameter options each bid period.

You can add, edit, and delete templates on the Scheduler tab of the Run Manager. The run templates set up standard run parameters that you can use repeatedly, but you can also modify specific parameters when you launch a run.

Templates are listed in non-case-sensitive alphabetical order.

Note: Run templates are not specific to a bid period. Any templates that you create are always available, regardless of the active bid period.

To create a new template:

  1. Click the Run Manager tab.

  2. Click the Scheduler tab.

  3. Click the Add button.

  1. Use the Run Type dropdown to the appropriate option.

  2. Enter a name in the Template Name field and click the OK button.

    • Note: You can use any character in a template name except slash (/) and backslash (\).

  3. Adjust the run parameters in the Pairing Schedule section.

    • Refer to the Available Run Parameters article for further details on each parameter setting.

    • If the category you select has a parent, the Parent Runs options appear. Refer to the Parent Run Parameters article for further details.

  4. Click the Save button.


The N-PBS Scheduler saves your template and displays the Scheduler tab with your new template added to the list.
