1 Introduction
Managing rules
In this topic we review how to change parameter values within the rule editor.
We estimate that this will take 3 minutes to complete.
2 Detailed Explanation
The Rule Editor lets you view the rules that have parameters that can be changed. There are some rules in the background, and if they cannot be changed, they do not appear here.
Click
the Rule Set dropdown
button.
In this scenario we are going to select the cabin rules and change the amount of rest a cabin crew member gets after an absence code.
Click
the Rule - FFT-Cabin-Roles list
item.
Click
the Advance button.
The rule we want to change (PairingRestAfterAbsenceCodes) is not listed on the first screen of rules.
Click Pairing-RestAfterAbsenceCodes.
Click
the Edit button.
Let's give them an extra hour of rest.
Click
the RestHours input
field.
Press
the Backspace
key.
Increase rest hours to 11.
Enter 1 into
the RestHours field.
Click
the Save button.
Click Pairing-DomicileRestWithTable.
Click
the Edit button.
HINT
If you encounter an input field like the examples for days 30 and 31 below, then the easiest way of making the changes is in an external editor, such as Windows Notepad, Microsoft Word or Excel. Copy the text out, make the changes and then paste it back in again.
Click
the Cancel button.
