In this topic we review how to build categories and make changes to categories.
We estimate that this will take 8 minutes to complete.
2 Detailed Explanation
The first thing that you need to do when opening the Config > Categories tab is to check that you are working in the correct bid period.
ATTENTION
The most common
error that people make is to edit the wrong bid period. It is very
important to make sure you are in the correct bid period before you commence work.
In this demonstration we will start by adding Denver (DEN) crew categories.
Click
the Add button.
Fill in the Details fields as required.
Click
the Base input
field.
Enter DEN into
the Base field.
The location is the airport code for the domicile.
Click
the Location input
field.
Enter DEN into
the Location field.
The domicile code should match the code used in the pairing file.
Click
the Domicile Code input
field.
Enter D into
the Domicile Code field.
Click
the Save button.
DEN has now been added as the base. We now need to create the categories that will apply for this base.
In this scenario, we want to add the Denver A319 crew categories.

Before you save your entries, make sure that these options are correct. They are all showing the pilot options, and so are configured correctly for this scenario.
