Prefer Off - Reserve Bid

Range of Dates lets you set a range of dates or days of the week and identify which end of the range is most important to you.

Range of Dates bid examples

Prefer Off Jun 9, 2008 - Jun 12, 2008

  • The N-PBS Scheduler attempts to build you a block with the selected dates off, prioritized in the order of the range.

Note: An underlined date indicates that you have a pre-awarded activity of some type on that date. Refer to your calendar available on the Calendar tab for further information on the absence.

There is a difference between entering Prefer Off bids using "List Of Days" (e.g. Prefer Off Friday, Saturday, Sunday) or "Range of Days" (e.g. Prefer Off Between Friday and Sunday).

For example, suppose the 1st day of the month is a Saturday:

  • For List of Days (e.g. Prefer Off Friday, Saturday, Sunday), the priority order of the days is Friday 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, Saturday 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, Sunday 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, etc. These individual days are denied in reverse order, so just the last Sunday is denied first, then the 2nd last Sunday, etc.

  • For Range of Days (e.g. Prefer Off Between Friday and Sunday), the priority order of the days is Saturday 1st, Sunday 2nd, Friday 7th, Saturday 8th, Sunday 9th, etc. These individual days are then denied (one day at a time) in reverse order (i.e. right to left).

Note: You can select dates or days of the week, but not both options at the same time. If you click a date then click on a day of the week, the day of the week is selected and your date selections disappear.

Reverse Range Priority

Reverse Range Priority lets you identify which end of the range is most important to you.

To enter a range, you click two dates or days. The N-PBS Bidder assumes that the earliest date or the first day of week you select is the start of the range, and the latest date or the second day of week you select is the end of the range. Reversing the range priority means that you want the N-PBS Scheduler to deny the start of the range first, if the N-PBS Scheduler has to enter Denial mode.

All or Nothing

All or Nothing tells the N-PBS Scheduler that if you can’t have all of the days or dates off, you don’t want any of the days or dates off and the N-PBS Scheduler should continue processing additional bid preferences (if any).
