If you close bidding, the system is still accessible to bidders. They can log into the system and make changes to their Default bid and search for pairings.
If you lock bidding, the system is no longer accessible to bidders. They cannot log in to the system or access any of its functions.
A message is displayed to the bidder if they attempt to log in when bidding is locked. From the Availability tab, you can customize the message displayed to bidders. The screenshot below shows what a bidder will see when they attempt to log in.
