Duty Legs

Any / Every Options

This bid has an Any or Every option. If you use Any - only one leg of the pairing has to contain the property for it to be awarded or avoided*.

If you use Every - every leg of the pairing has to contain the property for it to be awarded or avoided*

Reminders

  • *In most configurations, Any and Every options are not available for Avoid Pairings Bid Preferences. If you do not see these options on your avoid bids, you do not have them.

  • *In most configurations, Any and Every options are not available for Avoid Pairings Bid Preferences. If you do not see these options on your avoid bids, you do not have them.

Avoid Every only removes pairings where every leg has the property to be avoided. For example, Avoid Pairings if Every Leg is Redeye does not remove pairings where not all legs are redeyes. It only removes pairings where every leg is a redeye.

Refer to the Using Any or Every article for further information.

Duty Legs

  • Bid for or avoid pairings in which a duty day contains a number of duty legs greater than, equal to, or less than a specific number, or within or outside a range.

  • You can also choose to count deadhead legs when determining the number of duty legs in a duty day.

  • Duty Legs refers to duty leg counts per duty day and not for the entire pairing. You could be awarded a 3 day pairing with 2 legs per day if you bid to avoid pairings with duty legs greater than 3.

Award Pairings bid example

Award Pairings If Any Duty Legs = 2 legs

  • It awards pairings if the number of duty legs in any duty period is equal to two.

Avoid Pairings bid example

Avoid Pairings If Every Duty Legs > 4 legs

  • It filters out any pairings where every duty day has more than four duty legs in any single duty period.
