N-PBS 21-4 New Features

Introduction

N-PBS 21-4 New Features

N-PBS 21-4 New Features

We estimate that this will take 3 minutes to complete.

Detailed Explanation

Multiple ALL - Restricted Location Groups

Restricted Location Groups

New functionality to the system allows for restriction to crewmembers from a group of locations rather than individual stations.

The scheduler enforces the location group restrictions so that a crewmember with these restrictions is not awarded any pairing containing one of the given locations in the location group. This function is the same in LBS runs (JSX,SIL).

When viewing the run template, administrators see an unstacking parameter for the max stack height by location groups. The scheduler attempts to achieve these unstacking parameters (same as existing qualification unstacking).

The reason shows "Restricted Location Group" when a trip is denied under an award bid for this reason.

Click the Add button, then choose your group name and edit the locations as necessary. Once a group is selected, more options become available:

  • Click the Edit button to edit a Location Group.
  • Click the Delete button to delete a Location Group.

To Edit a Location Group, simply select the group and press Edit.

Crew Restriction Imports

Administrators have the ability to import crew with location group restrictions as part of the crew restriction file import.
The import has the same file format as the current location restrictions, position restrictions. For example:
CrewID,Aircraft,Function
80061,CRJ,Add
2367,E75,Remove
CrewID,Location,Function
80061,YKF,Add
2367,YYZ,Remove
CrewID,Position,Function
80061,CA,Add
2367,FO,Remove
CrewID,EquipmentPosition,Function
80061,F1,Add
2367,F1,Remove
CrewID,LocationGroup,Function
80061,Covid,Add
2367,Covid,Remove

Within each section, there can be multiple add lines (one for each crewmember) and multiple remove lines. Each of the 5 sections shown above is optional.

Upon import, the system:

  • For a Remove line, removes the restriction for the relevant person for the period being imported if it currently exists.
  • For an Add line, adds the restriction for the relevant person for the period being imported if it does not currently exist.

The system adds or shows location groups restrictions on the Crewmember Details tab of the Admin UI, similar to the existing equipment position restriction box (with a drop down list of available group names).

Location group restrictions propagate from one bid period to another. Like other restrictions, bulk edit will be disabled.

Crew Restriction Imports

In the Administrator UI > Crewmember Advanced Search, the Location Group Restrictions panel groups restrictions together so they can be searched, similar to the existing equipment position restriction box (with a drop down list of available group names).

Restricted Location groups are visible to crewmembers in the Web App in their Info Tab.

The General > Location > Location Groups tab allows you to View, Add, Edit, or Remove location groups:

S-59372 N-OC Customers - Export Long Call/Short Call Reserve Types in N-OC Export

The N-OC Export feature now includes Long and Short call codes, allowing these to be recognized by the N-OC product.

S-59400 FFT - Import JCTE Absence and History Files

An Import feature is now available for FFT that imports crewmember data into PBS using the JCTE format for Planned Absence and Historical Roster Files.

S-59681 FFT - JCTE Roster Import (In-Period and Historical)

For FFT, new file import formats have been added to facilitate the JCTE Absence and History files.

S-59804 CJT - Calculate In Period Credit for Pairing

PBS can now read the InPeriodCredit field in the N-OC pairing file. This enables the system to use the field as the in-period credit of the pairing, rather than calculated in-period credit.

S-59807 N-OC Customers - Add Period Start/End Dates to the N-OC API Request

N-PBS now sends period start/end as parameters of the historical pairing data request. This enables the integrated system to determine the period boundaries and calculate the in-period credit accordingly.

The new fields are <PeriodStart>  and <PeriodEnd>. They use a date format of ISO Standard YYYYMMDD.
